The long way around.
I graduated at the top of my class from Horizon High School in Phoenix in 1999 and went straight into the aerospace industry, where I spent nearly a decade as a machinist and 3D designer.
In 2008 I went back to school at the University of Phoenix for Information Technology and Business, and paid my way through as an HVAC technician at Desert Valley Air — averaging about a million dollars a year in systems and services sales.
From 2013 to 2014 I owned and operated US Air Solutions, a residential HVAC company I later sold in 2015. After that I ran commercial installs as a foreman at Strategic Incorporated, then became install manager at Orangutan Home Services, and in March 2018 I took over operations at SMW Refrigeration & Heating in Tempe.
Since then I've taken SMW from about $2.9M/yr in revenue to $6M/yr, become a master ServiceTitan administrator, and — over the past year and a half — started building SRVCWRX, my own field service management platform designed to compete with the tools I've spent years running.
